PARIS, France & CHICAGO, IL, USA - 22 October 2024 - Shippeo, a leading provider of multimodal shipment visibility, unveiled today its Autumn 2024 platform release, introducing powerful new exception management features, including a new alerting and ring fencing system for shipments impacted by global supply chain disruptions. The update also extends coverage and depth of its multimodal visibility solutions, and includes an entirely rebuilt, easier-to-use mobile application for enhanced Driver Visibility, along with many other features.
“I’m delighted to announce that our latest platform release, Autumn ‘24, is available from today,” says Anand Medepalli, Chief Product Officer at Shippeo. “In response to the increasing intensity and frequency of supply chain disruptions that organizations continue to face, we’re excited to introduce features leveraging high quality visibility data to enable users to identify and mitigate supply chain risks. Our new alerts and risk management capability for major ‘black swan’ global disruption events alerts users for major disruptions, such as the recent port strikes in North America in a timely manner, and proactively manage the impacted shipments.”
We have also doubled down on the breadth and depth of our visibility offerings, including the addition of domestic road tracking in China, as well as new intermodal shipment milestones, and introducing a new Lead-Time ETA, which offers users an ETA prediction for 100% of shipments, even when GPS position data is not available,” continues Medepalli. “In addition, our next-gen mobile application significantly enhances the user experience for drivers and helps track a shipment at a very granular level of detail.”
More powerful management of shipments by exception
Users can now better manage their supply chain risks with enhanced disruption management tools, as well as a new alert system aimed at making ‘black swan’ disruption events easier to navigate and respond to. Key features include:
Major disruption (‘black swan events’) alerts & risk management: Get in-app alerts for major disruptions, and easily see which shipments are impacted
Reorganized filters: Custom sort new filter categories and filter shipments more easily, for more effective identification and management of exceptions
Missed milestone exceptions: Get notified when loading or delivery milestones are not detected or declared thanks to automatically-generated shipment exceptions
Mobile responsive user experience: View a mobile-optimized UI for a smoother user experience, improving access from mobile devices while on the go
Extended coverage and deeper shipment visibility
This update introduces a number of user experience enhancements throughout the platform, as well as innovative new features increasing tracking capabilities, including:
New Shippeo Lead-Time ETA: Receive an ETA estimate for every shipment, using any transport mode, and in any region, even if GPS positions have not been received or are not available, by leveraging machine learning and statistical modeling on historical data (available on Road FTL, LTL, Parcel, Air, Rail and Intermodal Rail)
Key features for Road Visibility include:
Rail intermodal terminal milestones: Gain a more granular view of intermodal transport with new terminal events now included when received from freight forwarders
Road tracking in China: View milestones in platform and truck positions on a map, for domestic FTL flows in China, with our out-of-the-box solution benefiting from seamless carrier onboarding
Delay Audit Workflow: Capture reasons for delays from carriers systematically, to help address punctuality issues
Key features for Ocean Visibility include:
Shippeo ETA at inland terminal: Predict arrival times for containers at inland terminals, dynamically leveraging a customer’s historical data from similar lanes and blending real-time position data using powerful machine learning.
“Gate out full” Shippeo predictions: Predict pick-up times for containers at a port of discharge or inland terminal, dynamically leveraging customer’s historical data from similar lanes and blending real-time position data using powerful machine learning.
RoRo tracking: Track RoRo shipments from port of loading to port of delivery, supported at VIN level for finished vehicles tracking.
Enhanced carrier coverage: Track even more containers over ocean with support for more ocean carrier visibility data formats.
Reasons for untracked containers: Understand why a container was not tracked, facilitating troubleshooting.
