Shippeo, the global leader in real-time transportation visibility, today announced the acquisition of Logward, a pioneer in supply chain execution workflows.
For over a decade, Shippeo has helped shippers and logistics providers manage operations with trusted, SLA-backed real-time transportation visibility. With the addition of Logward, that visibility is now connected, in a single platform, to AI workflows and solutions that turn transport events, as they happen, into automated actions across systems, partners, and processes. This helps supply chain teams respond faster, reduce manual work and improve performance.
A strategic acquisition that further strengthens the foundation for AI-driven supply chain operations
Following last year’s launch of Shippeo AI, the acquisition of Logward – a company headquartered in Hamburg with over 80 employees across Europe and India with an engineering hub in Bangalore – further strengthens Shippeo's ability to help customers apply AI and automation to transport operations for more connected, responsive and automated supply chains.
That capability matters because, for most, AI-driven improvements remain difficult to realise. Gartner research found that only 15% of supply chain organisations have achieved measurable ROI from AI initiatives. And with many still struggling with fragmented systems, inconsistent updates, and data they don't trust, it's no surprise that 80% of supply chain leaders identify data availability and quality as the primary barrier to AI success.
By combining Shippeo's SLA-backed visibility with Logward's AI-powered workflows in a single platform, customers can confidently build automation on a stronger foundation of trusted, real-time transport data. This enables them to identify issues earlier, prioritise actions based on impact, and coordinate more effectively across the carriers, suppliers and internal teams that make up their supply chain.
Evonik Industries, one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies, is a customer of both Shippeo and Logward and a frontrunner in supply chain transformation.
"In the end, it's all about speed.” said Susanne Reinhart, Senior Vice President Supply Chain Management, Evonik. “By combining transport visibility with execution workflows, we have been able to respond faster to issues, focus teams on the actions that matter most, and coordinate operations more effectively. We are excited to see the future innovation that this even deeper partnership will no doubt enable."
This acquisition marks an important step in Shippeo’s mission to build the trusted visibility platform for autonomous supply chain execution, equipping teams with the trusted data and workflows they need to respond faster and with greater confidence.
"We’re committed to empowering the people behind supply chains to keep the world moving," said Lucien Besse, COO and co-founder of Shippeo. "With Logward, we take another step towards that goal by helping customers not only trust what they see is happening, but act on it faster and with more confidence. Just as importantly, this acquisition brings together two teams with deep supply chain expertise and a shared commitment to solving real operational problems for the industry we serve."
“Logward has always focused on helping supply chain teams of complex global businesses execute faster and with less manual effort,” said Jonas Krumland, CEO of Logward. “Together with Shippeo’s trusted visibility, we can help customers identify what matters sooner, coordinate the right response more effectively, and drive stronger operational and business outcomes.”
