Shippeo appoints Alessandro De Martini as Business Development Director to support rapid growth in Italy

30/9/2021

Paris, September 30, 2021 – Shippeo, global leader and European specialist in real-time transportation visibility, announced today the nomination of Alessandro De Martini as Business Development Director. Alessandro De Martini will lead the Italian go-to-market teams to further develop Shippeo’s client base in the region, while continuing to build on Shippeo’s strategic partnerships in the region, which currently includes Italy’s leading supply chain management solution Tesisquare. He will also support recruitment for the region following team expansion and the welcoming of several leading Italian brands, such as Conad and KME.

We’re delighted to welcome Alessandro in our team, as he will play an instrumental role in the company’s continued success”, said Lucien Besse, COO of Shippeo. “His intimate knowledge and experience within the Italian market is invaluable and he will no doubt be a great asset within our leadership team.”

Prior to joining Shippeo, Alessandro has worked for major supply chain and logistics companies, such as DHL, and brings over 20 years of experience within the industry. Having spent 10 of those years as a country manager for supply chain software providers, including real-time transportation visibility provider Transporeon, Alessandro developed a strong expertise in selling SaaS solutions.

This is a pivotal time to enter the company as it has been enjoying phenomenal growth for the past few months. Moreover, there’s an enormous amount of potential in Italy, said Alessandro De Martini. Our country is currently the 9th largest exporter worldwide, with trade making up nearly 60% of our GDP and as EU trade is a primary focus, road transportation visibility is of particular value. Shippeo is clearly leading the Italian transportation visibility market and I’m looking forward to applying my experience and market knowledge to support our growth in the region.”
