Founded in 1856, Rotkäppchen-Mumm is one of the world's leading producers and distributors of sparkling wine, wine and spirits. In 2020 the company generated a turnover of € 1.2 billion, with total sales of 330 million bottles. It delivers over 75,000 shipments per year to business-to-business customers, mostly supermarkets, hotels and restaurant chains, working with six 3PL carriers on an FTL (Full Truckload) and LTL (Less than Truckload) basis for outbound deliveries.
The pandemic period has led to subsequent changes, with the cancellation of events and a months-long closure of restaurants and bars. This was an incentive for Rotkäppchen-Mumm to consider how visibility could improve operations and customer service by enabling the company to notify its supermarket customers about Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs) in a timely manner, creating transparency and a real-time overview of transnational transport orders. Rotkäppchen-Mumm was looking for an innovative technological solution that would provide scalability and continuous improvement in achieving the highest level of managed volume orders.
