Visibility Is the Foundation, Not the Finish

"The era of passive 'dots on a map' is ending, shifting toward platforms that drive automated, predictive and prescriptive logistics execution."

- Gartner®, Market Guide for Logistics Network Visibility Solutions, April 2026

It's a direction we know well - and one we've been building toward for years.

Since Shippeo's earliest days, we've held a belief that has shaped every product decision, every customer engagement, and ultimately every strategic move we've made: trusted visibility data is the foundation - not the finish line.

When visibility data is trusted and accurate it does more than inform - it drives coordinated action across your teams, systems, and partners, so your operations respond to what's actually happening, in real time. We've seen this with our customers, who have used visibility as the foundation to drive automation across their operations, reduce firefighting, and build supply chains that adapt instead of react.

It's why Visibility Engineering has been central to our approach since day one - building the trusted data foundation that makes confident action possible. And it's why we recently acquired Logward: to add the AI-powered workflow engine that turns that trusted foundation into automated, coordinated execution across the supply chain.

Trusted data is the foundation - and the hardest part to build

There's a reason so many visibility projects stall. The challenge was never connectivity. It was ensuring that the data flowing through those connections was accurate enough to actually run operations with confidence.

That insight is baked into everything we do. Our Visibility Engineering approach exists because the hardest part of visibility isn't turning it on. It's building the foundation that makes it reliable enough to automate against, accurate enough to stake your operation on, and consistent enough to back with contractual SLAs - a commitment no other vendor makes.

That foundation matters more than ever as the market moves toward execution. You cannot automate what you cannot trust. Every AI-powered workflow, every automated exception response, every coordinated action across your TMS, ERP, and WMS - all of it depends on the quality of the data underneath it.

The foundation. The intelligence. The execution.

The 2026 Gartner Market Guide for Logistics Network Visibility Solutions - in which Shippeo is named as a Representative Vendor - identifies three defining shifts in what logistics leaders now expect from their platforms. For us, they read less like emerging trends and more like a map of where we've already been building.

Trusted data isn't a given - it's engineered.

There's no shortcut to data quality. This is something we've believed since day one, and it's why Visibility Engineering sits at the heart of everything we do. Our teams of supply chain specialists work alongside customers and their carrier ecosystems to build the trusted data foundation that everything else depends on - backed by the industry's only contractual SLAs on visibility data quality.

The 2026 Gartner Market Guide report makes the same point clearly: “while core functionalities among vendor offerings may appear largely similar, meaningful differentiation is often overlooked with regards to variations in data quality management, usability, implementation simplicity, and the breadth of partner and carrier networks.”

AI is only as useful as the data you point it at.

Shippeo AI helps teams get faster answers and act with greater confidence - improving data quality in real time, explaining delays, surfacing exceptions, and enabling teams to move from question to action. But AI without trusted data is just noise dressed up as insight. The reason we invested in the foundation first is precisely so that the intelligence layer on top of it can be relied upon.

The 2026 report confirms “leaders should select vendors that align with their specific network and offer extended capabilities like AI-driven workflow automation, predictive ETAs and prescriptive insights.” We see this less as a trend, and more as a natural extension of what trusted visibility should have always enabled.

Visibility should drive action - not just awareness.

This is where the Logward acquisition becomes decisive. Together, Shippeo and Logward combine trusted, SLA-backed visibility data with a configurable AI workflow engine and integration hub - so teams can define how their supply chain should respond, then let event-driven automation coordinate those actions across carriers, partners, and systems. Real-time transport events become coordinated responses across your TMS, ERP, WMS, and control tower - automatically, and at scale.

Gartner states “capabilities like workflow automation, dynamic appointment scheduling and prescriptive insights are sought after to replace the manual activities that have historically hindered logistics network visibility”. For us, it's the direction we've been pointing to for years.
